Rest is not idleness.
Indeed, restlessness is the torment of idle people. God could not need rest. He could not be tired by creating the world. His rest was the infinite peace of infinite love. -Caryll Houselander

We are not social workers. We are trying to be contemplatives in the heart the world. We have chosen to be carriers of God’s love. If the words of Jesus are true, 'I was hungry, I was sick, I was naked, I was homeless, and you did it to me' (Matthew 25:40), then we are touching him twenty-four hours a day. So you, in your lives, in your own homes, can be in his presence twenty-four hours a day, if your lives are woven with prayer and sacrifice. - Mother Teresa

God becomes especially visible in His mercy; He Himself makes it incarnate and personifies it. So then, what can I count on? My own merits? No, My merit is God's mercy. I am by no means lacking merits as long as He is rich in mercy. If the mercies of the Lord are manifold, I too will abound in merits. This is important: the courage to trust in Jesus' mercy, to trust in His patience, to seek refuge always in the wounds of His love. -St. Bernard

Is “faith alone” enough for salvation, or faith + works of mercy? Jesus is clear. The Bible is clear, and no mental or theological gymnastics are necessary: “Nothing counts but faith working in mercy” (Gal 5:6).

Find out why God goes to all the trouble - the whole cosmos and all of human history - to save mankind, but does not save fallen angels. A little bit of spiritual warfare discussion in this show!
Let us be renewed by God’s mercy, let us be loved by Jesus, let us enable the power of his love to transform our lives too; and let us become agents of this mercy, channels through which God can water the earth, protect all creation and make justice and peace flourish (Pope Francis).
Circumstances are series of continual attempts to get our attention, because we need help discerning our weakness and neediness. Like Jesus Who “learned obedience through that which He suffered,” I too must learn to hear the Holy Spirit speaking through my repeating circumstances and strongest desires.

How do you discern the Holy Spirit’s action, presence, voice, and will in your life? Through the patterns of your bad habits, toxic and other relationships, repeating circumstances, and overwhelming desires. Unleashed: How to Receive Everything the Holy Spirit wants to Give You, and a bunch of stuff I wasn’t able to include in there. #unleashed
I will look for ways to treat someone better than he or she deserves today. I will strengthen someone's faith by loving and lifting, by helping them exercise their gifts, by being patient and kind, by refusing to boast, by letting offenses go and keeping no record of wrongs (see 1 Corinthians 13:4-6). With God's help we'll reach each other.
When we're just starting out attempting to discern and use our gifts, there is so much that needs to be done and learned, the important thing is just to begin. Where? Everywhere. Anywhere. It's all important!
But later when we've been working in our gifts for a while, God will ask us to do something we are unable to do. Then, to give the world only the best we have is to cheat them of what could have been through the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit working in us. Let's begin.
